Inktober

Back in October, I participated in Inktober, where the challenge is to draw something everyday using inking utensils. I fell short of the whole month but I did have fun branching out and trying things other than a ballpoint pen.

I Thought
A little something I needed to get out and Marion's words illustrate it beautifully.
Note: I'm actually right-handed, therefore that is the hand I create with, not with the left as indicated up there haha

You've prolly seen this girl before. I just added a background and did some minor touching up.

Darren Criss

A slightly large watercolour portrait for a friend.

Darren Criss

This was a gift for Allison! Check out her deviantARTwebcomic and show her some love.

Since I'm a fan of the show Glee, and that girl is even more so, I decided to do some fanart since I was diddling with my watercolours all weekend. Tried out the salt technique on his collar (see the tiny dots in the shadows?). Next time I'll make sure to do it without any underpainting aha.
Yes, the watercolours are supposed to look that saturated; I stuck to the primaries for the colour scheme.  :)

Chanel

I loved the Ruben Toledo spread by Nordstrom in a magasine (I think, Vogue?). Plus, the model reminded me of Karolina, haha. I wasn't able to find it on Google, but here's the [link] to my scan of the reference.

Here's a buncha watercolours I've been working on during the past weekends.

I even tried painting a background for this one, but since it was all freenhand, it came out less than satisfactory. Just look at the girl who's checking out a shiny gold embroidered shawl.

And this last one is a bunch of colour pencil sketches and doodles I used a little watercolour washes over a few of them, but that's all. You can see a few men I drew scattered about. The long-haired chick with orange hair is the same one with purple hair. I was just experimenting with different hues, haha.

Definitely click to see in hi-def
;P

Watch Your Step

Obviously, I stepped into something.

I thought I posted this here earlier...but anyways, I'm submitting it again after going through my profile pictures on fb, haha.

This was a self-portrait-thing during a pretty turbulent time in my life. The hair sort of looks like mine...?

I do have a picture. It's about 90% finished, some facial features need some colouring in, the shirt needs shading and the sash's colour needs to be fixed. More uniformity, really.  She's not going to have a background...just a floor, hahaha.

Blue Hair

My mother found some thick paper lying around and asked me if it was watercolour paper. Leafing through it, it didn't SEEM like watercolour paper, but then again, I haven't been painting on various kinda and different pressed sheets. It's lightly textured so I thought it may have a chance under some water. xD
So I stealthily painted a quick lineless picture. Seems like the paper is good, it was treated with some acid-free wash so it absorbed the paints well.  Her hair really makes me wish I bought a new white gel pen. My current one died thought it has plenty of ink left. :/
I added some details with a blue ballpoint and colour pencils once it finished drying to add some depth.
